Jay Newton, second from left, Life Scout member of Troop 262, completes his Eagle Scout Project with the Gonzales Youth Center. He contacted GYC several months ago with his idea of building a sand volleyball court for the center and was given permission to proceed. On June 13, he and his crew showed up at the Gonzales Youth Center to complete his Eagle Scout Project. Newton had to plan, organize, raise the funds, and head up the physical labor to complete his project. After working all day in the heat, the court was finished. The Gonzales Youth Center is very blessed to have Jay pick this for his project. Newton and some of his helpers enjoy some playing time at right.
